making an AR non restrictive
Can a guy make an AR rifle non restricteded by ordering it with a longer barrel and a pinned magazine? I didnt do any research jus thought be an interesting question cause you can buy an AR platform 9mm non restricted.

No you cannot. Barrell length does not matter and the mags must already be pinned. A 9mm AR is just as restricted as a 5.56. Now you have me thinking.......are you talking about an AR-15 variant? If so, every stinkin' one of them is restricted.

The AR is restricted by nature of it's "blood line", and receiver construction.
The best only way we will ever de-restrict the AR's is through political action.
Write you MP and the PM and tell them what you want.

ar variants
You could look at the Robinson Arms XCR. They come in several calibers and are non restricted. P&D had some for sale, as well, you can find them on line from various vendors. They are not exactly like the AR platform, in fact, they are are a little bit better in design. They use a gas piston similar to the FN. They retail for around the $2300. Swiss Arms stuff is ~$3-3200. I am guessing the higher price is strictly because they are non-restricted and the vendors know it. I have never owned one so how they are for reliability is unknown.

I guess the logical way around that would be for someone to build an AR lower receiver that had it's own unique set of internal parts, but still accepted the upper and stock units.  Wonder why no one has done that?

Another vote for the XCR. Or depending on what you want to do with it you could try that "just right carbine".

I have owned or got to play with every "black rifle" .223 that is available to us in Canada and I can honestly say the Swiss arms has the highest build quality of any of them.
If you talk to anyone who has owned one they will tell you reliability is excellent.
I don't think the retail mark-up on Swiss arms is any different than anything else out there.
As for the OP, The only way to get it De-restricted is by getting off the evil guns list.

They did. S&W M&P22. All different parts than an AR and still got the restricted classification. No logic needed, just bureaucrats .

No way you can have a non-restricted AR. It's because a scary looking gun (whatever that means) will kill people faster and far deader (is that even a word? oh well doesn't matter cause I don't actually have to make sense) than one with a wood stock and and a longer barrel...... Any Liberals that can verify the accuracy of this statement for me?

Thanks for the opinions and facts on the subject guess I won't try to order any lol. But couple guys I know got an AR style .22 from ruger an another guy got one in a AR style in 9mm that's what got me thinkin on this. To bad a guy couldn't get it made somehow cause make a great bear or deer gun in the brush not to mention yote gun

I can think of lot of better options for a deer or bear gun in the bush. Would be okay on coyotes, but once again there are better options. For just plain fun shooting, they're pretty hard to beat  .
