Default Big ole coyotes

As Les Johnson would say “deer killer down”. Any one killing those giant coyotes this year? There’s been threads in the past. I want to see a 50 lber everyone throws around. 40 lbs and 43 are my biggest this year. I’ll try to upload photos at some point. No doubt they make them bigger, now that i have a scale I’m in search of the 50 lb doggo.

Good Luck ! I'm sure a 50 pounder is out there somewhere. I got a 47 lb two or three years ago N of Sangudo.

Default Big coyote

I shot a 47 lb coyote a few years back, weighed it on my digital fishing scale ( which I check each year for accuracy with the Xmas turkey)!! I have a photo, but I also can’t be bothered learning how to post pictures here.

I'm off until Jan 5th. Plan on shooting and snaring some on our property. It should be a good time. Lots around. Might try my hand at some beavers under the ice.
See how it goes..

Shot a 48 pounder once that was just big all over. Taller, longer, bigger head, just a freak.
Same year shot a 47 pounder near a deer kill. That one was probably a 40 pounder with 7 pounds of deer meat in in its swollen belly.
To break 50 in the west is extremely rare.

A 50 pounder will be something. I killed a 40 last year that had mange. I packed him all the way out just to put him on the scale.

Well I think I got one tonight. Called him in, straight across a field and shot him at 60 yards.
I thought he was a very pregnant full turn female, nope. It's a fat fat male.
On that note, if he's not 50 I'd be surprised.
He's hanging in the shed as I have no time to skin him. Nice fire, red tinge to him. Shot with a .223, no big holes.
If anyone is buying whole frozen coyotes. I'll be in Edmonton working Tues and wed, then off. I could bring him to pick up.
let me know,
Tullfan

Have yet to get one to hit the 50 mark though I did have one 47. I seem to have misplaced my scale which sucks as I have 2 nice ones that might get into the 40's. It's hard to see in the pic but this male was eating well and had quite the gut on him.

Killed a big male yesterday. Tripped the fish scale to 42 lbs. 1/4 mile drag to the truck, sure felt it. Biggest coyote I’ve killed for a long time.

All I know is that those big dogs are tough skinning and in our neck of the woods usually not that great for color or quality.

This is classic everyone shoots a 50 lber. “They are sure of it”. lol No knock to you but without a scale those claims are dead. Good job on the 31.15 still . Shows how heavy big coyotes seem and how hard anything over 40 even is to kill

I agree. I bought the scale today just to confirm my 50 pounder. Uugh. Maybe it got lighter hanging, lol.
Thanks for understanding..
