It is brass, but he needs dummy rounds, not live ones, to test feed and extraction so you put a bullet in the end and you are good to go. His client is going to need brass anyhow so the rest can go with the gun. That was why I was saying it was pretty expensive at 6 bucks a round for brass. If he could find loaded ammo it probably wouldn't cost much more than the Norma brass does but you need to pull the bullet to dump the powder.. I know with the Big Weatherby cartridges I can often buy loaded ammo for less than empty brass cost, sometimes by half.
The 416 Taylor is just a necked down 458. I am so cheap I would just run 458 through the seating die, then the sizing die and then pop a bullet in it. No way I would pay 6 bucks per for Norma brass, But David is a great gunsmith and already knows this and that isn't what he was asking.
