We went last Sunday afternoon. It was kind of slow until the sun dropped, and then the walleye and burbs started feeding. We got quite a few, but none of significant size.

burbs should be spawning, and may be in shallower. A friend went out a few weekends ago and got skunked. Sounds like it's gotten slower lately...

Default pine

Fished it 2 weekends in a row and cauhgt walleye and burbot both times.ALst week we stayed out until 10 p.m. and had burbot on all night. Very good action from 10 feet out to 23 feet, nothing of any good size but still a lot of fun for my son. Biggest burb was 4 lbs, most were 2 lbs we landed about 15 and 4 walleye. The action really started 30 minutes after the sun went down.

Default set up

I use a green jig head with a white powerbait body tipped with a small smelt. I also set up a pickerel rig on a stationary rod. I jig very lightly 2" of the bottom. I even landed a few pike mostly small ones but I did manage one 9 lbs pike this winter.
All the fish had small burbot in their stomachs, I guess that is their main food source. I don't know about the walleye since you can't keep any but they were hitting smelt ok.

Very hungry fish in that lake. Very few minnows and no substancial forage base (whitefish or perch). I really enjoy hearing the reports about the burbs, funny how they can do so good in some lakes. Has anyone caught any large burbs or walleye yet? The sure weren't growing that fast (the walleye anyway).
