Default Drift Sock ?

When trying to go for a real SLOW troll can a person use a drift sock from the back of the boat? Or is this just to much of a strain on the sock?
Thanks Dodger.

Works very well if matched to the size of the engine.

Thanks guys for your info. I have posted on three websites and there have been quite a variety of responses. It seems that I should just give it a go and evaluate it for myself and see if it meets my expectations.
Thanks Dodger.
