Thumbs up Recent lake trip (pic heavy)

Was suppose to go to LSR but instead we made a last minute choice and decided to go for some walleye instead. What a beautiful weekend to hit up the lake. The bite was sure on. I landed and touched a hog of a walleye until he jumped out of the net and took my rod with him. Vigsy also landed this huge walleye. 28 inches 8 pounds, and this huge jumbo whitefish which was a beast. Enjoy.

This walleye had something wrong with his spine

That whitefish looks like one of the dead ones that are floating around that lake right now.

X2. The dead ones have that discoloring around the gills.

It must have been an un-dead fish.

The fish in that picture has been dead for a day or two... Can tell by discolouration around gills.

There were multiple big ones like that floating around the lake on Sunday, all with same discolouration. They likely just picked it up for a picture, I know I thought about it but didn't want to pick up a dead stinky fish... Not the first time BGSH has made up a story either...

My post was a little overboard but by the time I went back I couldn't edit it.

I am about 95% sure that fish was already dead but if not I am sorry.

I think you are on to something, judging by the gills

Unless you're specifically targeting whitefish, i wouldn't think you would be able to catch them with a walleye/pike setup. Regardless, this one looks like it rivals speckle's record holder white on the fly.

Here are a couple of our pics from the same lake last Sunday. First is a 22" 4.5 lb walley. Next was the smallest pike of the day, no big pike but the hammer handles kept us busy.
