Rapid Z 800, boone and crockett reticle, or....?
What's the thoughts on these scopes? Other options?Looking for ease of use and on a 7 RM. Never used one before, thinking of one now

I like the Leupold B+C scopes, but the Zeiss is okay too, but heavier than the Leupold.

The RZ800 reticle works well with most 7mmremmag loads. It is quite thick for target shooting, but being thick makes it better for use in low light conditions.

This reticle is way too thick for anything longer than 300 yards, as elk said, i sold mine for that reason

^^ I couldn't disagree more. Took my 6.5-284 out to 650 yds with great success the other day with the rz600 in a HD5 2-10x42. My gong is a 14" circle and I never dealt like the reticle was covering too much.

Mine was fine for hunting, target shooting the reticle is 3-4 times thicker than any of my other scopes, just look through one and you will see, just a heads up, mine was an expensive scope and I lost a bit on it because i never noticed it. To each there own, they do have a great app though.

I have a few rifles scoped with Leupolds with the BC reticle. I like it, works great.
I never owned any other brand of scope other than Leupolds.

Mark me down for the B&C. I have a vx3i on my 270wsm and love that scope. I’ll be picking another one up for my AR this year sometime. Can’t go wrong with a 3.5-10x40 vx3i for $420.

I find Leupold's Long Range Duplex pretty easy to like and prefer it over the Boone & Crockett reticle. It's uncluttered and straight forward. If using a vx ii 3-9x40 set at 9x the first dot is down 2.2 MOA, second dot is down 4.8 MOA and the top of the heavy post is down 7.8 MOA.
A 7 mag with a 200 ish yard zero can cover quite a bit of ground with such a reticle.
The LRD is also available in the fixed 6x scopes.

I have the Z5 3.5-18x44 with BRH on my go to big game rifle, and it works very well.

Another vote for Swaro Z5 3.5x18x44 except mine is the BRX (thinner version). Thought I was going to have to go to the heavier reticle but since I had Cataract surgery I can see the BRX again just fine, even moose against a dark background, well past dark. Sighted 3.3" high at 100 it is dead on at 300 and I don't need to woory about hold over till I get past 370 yards.
I also have B&C and Mil Dots. I am not a fan of twisting dials. I like the Mil Dots for Varmint guns that are sighted 1" high at 100. The Boone And Crockets are a great Big Game reticle, cleaner and simpler than the BRX or H, I just like how light the Swaro (15 ounces) is and how clear their glass is. A B&C in a Swaro would be perfect.
