Did you get that stuff from Jerry ?

And did you get a new bolt-head for the 7mmRemMag to 7mm-08 conversion ?

Any benefit using a long-action for a short-action round ? Extended seating depth ?

Good luck with the new toy !

New shilen select match 7mm08 barrel 22" coming from Jerry, 308 la bolt head, go no gauges, thumbhole featherweight stock from boyds, take couple of months for all to get here. I have both long and short actions, will try both. Advantage unknown, savage short action can take coal to 2.90.

Barrels are about $585. Go/No Go Gauges are $60. Wrench is $20.

Anyone with an opposable thumb can change a Savage barrel competently. Changing a tire is far more difficult.

to follow up in this saga: 7mm08 in savage la 114, Boyd thumbhole stock, shilen select match varmint contour 22” stainless barrel, headspace gauges all from Jerry Teo, thanks Jerry for parts and advice and service. Bushnell 5x15 tactical mildot scope. Had to glassbed as most Boyd stocks. Coal 2.86 with nosler 140gr. BT, 39 gr. H4985 shoots like this.

Took a year to get your parts from Jerry? That was my experience a few years ago.

Nope. 4 months to get parts delivered. 6 months to find time to shoot it. Better group to come when it warms up again
