Default Great Bird weekend...!

Got out for wild pheasants sat afternoon. Both my kids with me.
Met up with landowners and chewed the fat for a while. Been chasing wild birds there for over 30 years now.
Had lots of shots. My boy dumped one but the coulee was at steep cliff angle and we all spent over an hour with the dog scouring the area, but we couldn’t find it.... damn. Dog did great! Cornered a runner at the field edge.... it flew right across us.

Took a break at the spot where my first hunting dog’s ashes are spread.

We miss ya Bessie.... you knew them coulees off by heart.

This AM, we had a crazed flock of snows pegged.... set up a mixed spread. Them crazy birds finally passed over us... we shoulda dropped more than just the two.. but it’s a treat just to get a shot at them this far west.
No wind made it tough to bring the birds in right.

Check out the chest plumage on the brownish Canada my boys holding... pretty neat.

Happy dog and son. Good times.
