Will be interesting to see what happens this sale.
I already know what my marten prices will be. They screwed up and did not have them in last years sale and they were supposed to be. They said if i got lower prices this sale than last year they would give me the difference and give me the highest price so that was cool with me

I also have to mention that all of these were dogs that I caught early that I have at this sale. I started about October 20th I think and not one of my dogs has graded early or extra early. Kinda puts that wait till mid November thing out to lunch. Got to love it!!

How many coyotes you have in there. All the ones I sent in where taken starting Nov 1. I also am real happy with the grades I got. Just hope they sell now.

Looks like we tied for highest lot this auction Phil. Just wish I had 50 that graded like this instead of 14

Cool i never knew that. It says pre sale value at $80 which does not make sense. There is another one worth $125 presale in there? Is that in U.S and how close is the sale usually to those prices?

I have 39 in this sale (told to hold to this year from my 2014/2015 season). These pelts were from my first ever season trapping. So....my first ever marten being put to auction! I believe I have my first top lot? I have 1 in lot# 241401 and 2 in #241402. Of these 39, 19 were graded as select. Anyone know what the 4 graded as SSL means? Can't find SSL in the NAFA grading manual.

Super select I am guessing which means 10 times the worth of a select!!!! Just joking of course but it looks like you have some awesome colours and good grades. Well done Jason. These are all my first ever marten as well this auction. It looks like not all of them made it to sale. I have hopes that the rest are decent quality like these as well but i know I had some damaged ones.

I was hoping super select as well. But the NAFA manual doesn't list SSL...funny. I too am missing 9. I had submitted 48 marten and only 39 are showing. I know I had maybe a half dozen with some damage to the pelts from birds/mice etc. They must be holding these lower end ones to the next sale.

Nube, great job one the fur. I am pumped also. I have some of the best grades on muskrats I have ever had, many labeled skins and good sized. They probably won't even sell this year !!! My coyote grades are good but I didn't get a top lot on this sale. Hope they sell well.

My rats were all bad. I have a ton of damaged late spring ones from last year and some small sizes. I have a few Labelled I*'s but like you said they won't be worth much or even sell.
Got a lynx going on the 4rd sale now. It was a slight damage. Wish I tanned it now.

Rules of the game...

Clean market, big demand, easy grade.

Plugged market, tough grade.

I wasn't aware of this and it's good to know.....Thanks! How do these pre sale estimates generally coincide with the final auction sales? Is what's listed pretty much what you can expect your fur to sell for?

Sorry to derail your tread nube. What do they value your rats at though and ya I have lots of dk Br that are at 110 so that one which is technically a top lot should be twice that and ya it's american

This makes total sense but i thought the market was pretty clear for coyotes?? Grades on them seam to be pretty harsh this sale, Western Heavy doesn't have a single select dog? That seems kinda strange and only a few I as well. My best is in 240336, not as good as i had hoped since i sent a couple beauties.

I don't remember seeing the presale estimate data last year. I will be very disappointed if the prices are close to the estimate. My guess is the estimated prices are generated using some simple algorithm and true demand prices will be substantially higher.....eternal optimist??....lets all hope.

I compared some similar grades to last year and last years prices were 30% better on average than the "estimate"

Typically the first sale has lesser quality "early" caught coyotes. Don't think there were any SSL's in 2015 either. The great stuff is caught in December IMO. a lot heavier and silky white on skin side. Your not going to catch Heavy selects in Oct-Nov, Semi selects maybe. Might pull some heavys in late November.

Why would they change the grading from one sale to the next? If they are early they are early not II's? I felt I got off easy on my grades. I expected a lot worse.

The year I had my top lot there were no selects either , just that way I guess . That was 2 years ago .
