Did benchmark do the fluting for you? I like how it is matched to the fluted bolt.

Nice! Can't say I've ever seen fluting like that...especially that deep! Quite the specimen, I hope to see some "dead gopher beside a rifle" photos that include that thing!

Benchmark fluted the barrel.

Default $800!

The only part under $900 on that rifle is the trigger, butt pad and lower I suspect. Nice rifle. I’m about to put a similar rifle together in 28 Nossler.

Slick! Although I am not too keen on the fluting, prefer straight fluting on barrels and helical on bolts. Not that it matters at all, your rifle your choice.

Defiance is about 4 months out or so. It currently has a rem adl trigger guard on it but there is a nicer custom one coming that i am waiting on.

Very nice rig. With that barrel it will definitely stand out among the pack.

Cheers.

Default 6 br

Nice rig,Rob.
Why did you not go for a longer barrel and get a little more velocity?
With a 10 twist you are probably looking at bullet weights in the 75 to 90 grain range?
Ironically, I have a 6 BR on a Defiance Deviant single shot action with a 10 twist barrel but with straight flutes. I use 87 Vmax bullets but am now experimenting with 75 Vmax to get higher velocities.

Portability is a big part of the short barrel. The rifle will still be able to be shot offhand, with the deep flutes it cuts a ton of weight. Yeah probably run 60-75 grain bullets.

Wouldnt work so good with the lack of a hole in the bottom of the action.

I’m very observant apparently. And my reading comprehension skills are stellar.
