Facet Flutes:
Minimal material removed, maximum wall thickness retained. Technically 8 flutes, but it gives the illusion of 16, because of the way a center cutting end mill cuts on the top of a cylindrical surface. Shiniest finish

On a Tikka T3 and a Savage Bolt
6/8 Ball Flutes:
Called that because I use a ball nose end mill to cut them. Round bottom flutes, unlike the flat bottom on the Vortex. More material removed, less wall thickness retained. 6 or 8 flutes.
6 flutes on some barstock:
6 flutes, using a smaller diameter cutter, and 8 flutes. Also on barstock.
Diamond Flutes:
Similar to the 6 and 8 ball styles, but crosshatched. Maximum material removal, and maximum weight reduction. If you're concerned about such things

Fishnet Flutes:
Not helical. Also a little more difficult to cut, especially on harder bolts like Savage. The one example I did beat up by inserts pretty bad. May have to charge more for this style on hardened bolts to account for increased insert costs.
