stoeger shotguns
Anyone use a Stoeger SxS? I am thinking of purchasing one for rabbit hunting and a bit of upland too, but I have limited knowledge of this brand. I don't want to break the bank on this gun, but I also don't want to purchase one if they are crap. Just need something functional in a SxS. If you have other suggestions please let me know.

I think these were made either in Brazil or Argentina. From what I know, they were ok, kinda like the Baikals. I had a Baikal for years, solid hard working O/U that I used for upland hunting. Down side was that it weighed a ton

I have a 28 SXS for a while , it went bang every time, never broke.
The gun was a bit on the "clunky " side, but a very serviceable fie arm, and shot where it was pointed.
It was sent to a fella who wanted a sub gauge gun but was a bit short on cash at the time - he still uses it and loves it.

Can you tell us how you arrived at this opinion?
Are you labeling all Stoeger guns as crap or just the one you had?

I've got a Stoeger coach gun. It's what I mostly use for ruffies 'n such. Works great and never had a problem. Short, quick and deadly. Rifled slugs work really well out of it also. Beer cans a 60 yards.

Have a 12 ga. SxS with the double triggers.
No problems shooting.
Stock did split, easy home fix though.

i have a stoeger p350 pump. id liken it to a savage rifle....it aint the prettiest gun ever built, but its tough, accurate and reliable. when it falls in the muddy slop in the bottom of the boat or gets a new scar crossing a barbwire fence i dont cry over it and it keeps on working just fine.

Another option would be to find a used Savage/Stevens 311. They usually go for around $250
