Default The 7X57 Mauser.

Does anyone want to give up any hints on loading for this cartridge? The manuals are obviously anemic, and in a modern rifle, it would seem prudent to start with 7mm-08 data. I guess I should note that my reamer is not SAMMI spec'd with a shorter throat and slightly tighter neck.

All rifles are unique so be careful approaching the top loads in the manuals and if you decide to exceed them do so slowly and wiith great caution.

I had the best luck with imr 4350 and 120s out of ours, it's got a short lil 18" pencil tube on it for a light carry rifle, shoots well under 3/4". I used the data I could find in the books and worked up watching for pressure until I got a good shooting load. Rifle is built on a Mauser 98 so it's got the strength to hold up for sure.

I know that we have been spending a lot of time at the range but don't remember you taking all day to shoot that group.
