It seems like the Catholic church needs to be more open. Members are the owners and management should report to them.
The secrets from abuse on up is very damaging. Openness would help repair that.
Plus nothing in the bible stops priests from having a wife and kids. It is purely a control system that is very out dated.

In the old days, the king only held power at the pleasureof the pope. Henry and Elizabeth were fired. Actually excommunicated, which amounted to the same thing. Any Catholic was not bound by their edicts.
