I have the Garmin Striker 5, really happy with it and under your budget. Also use it as a flasher in the winter

it's a hair above your budget, but I really feel like the Humminbird Helix series is the way to go. My cousin bought a Helix 5 Ice and then got the summer 'ducer separate, and uses that thing year round. Really does the trick. If I lived in Manitoba again, I'd get Lowrance, for sure, just for the Anglers Edge Mapping cards which are Larry-exclusive, but out here, a Helix would be great. More and more I'm becoming intrigued by the idea of getting a Terrova with i-Pilot link-up to Humminbird.....

So I hear! I know I'm nearly 10 years behind the times, but I picked up some Humminbird and Minn Kota catalogues last time I was back in Wpg and started doing research online. I mean, the Spot-Lok feature, alone......cripes. As I've mentioned a few times on this board, we'll be purchasing our first boat sometime between now and next spring, and that's one of the features that I will have to have right from the get go...

Spot lock is a great feature but u don’t have to buy hummingbird to have it work. The minnkota can do most things on its own
