Wabuman for the weekend...or other lakes free of crazy boaters...

Hey All,

With it being such a beautiful weekend I want to take my 14ft tinner out in search of some monster pike.

I really want to hit up Wab but I dont want to be out there with jetskis and drunk ski-boaters racing around. Is there any part of Wabuman where there is a speed restriction or a place where jetskiers/ski-boats can't get too? If everyone thinks Wabuman will be as crazy as I think it will be...does anyone know of any lakes within 2 hours of E-town we could fish in relative peace?? I was thinking something around Athabasca but I have only ever fished baptiste up there...

could try beaver lake by lac la bich.or fawcett east of slave lake i think iam going to give beaver lake a try

Battle lake is nice and they are strict on speed limits. I go often and haven't run into anyone but good people. Very nice and quiet. May be too far for you?

Well wab will be a gong show but you can always launch a the sailing club and fish the south end of the lake. A 14ft is easily launch able there may have to be. Your feet. You can find quit (er) spots out there. But the main launch and the PP will be a mess.

There is alot of lake on Wabamun that Im sure you can fish your own slice all to yourself.
