Default Burbs'

I was fishing at Skelton this weekend and was in about 18' of water, saw lots of pike and got a few, but saw no walleye or burbot. We saw both of these guys when we fished the same place in January. Any tips on where I could start looking for burbot...will they move to shallows to spawn?

Ive had the same problem you have there earlier this winter I was out there and saw about 10 burbot in one day and hooked 4 2on the ice. I went to the same spot this weekend and only found whitfish and saw one walleye maybe they are in shallower water? I dont know. The funny thing is that is the only time I have every seen whitefish in skeleton ever.

Where were you fishing, I was at the point, on the same side as the narrows. Have you ever tried the narrows at this time? How deep were you seeing the whites? Did you see any pike, or manage to snap up any whites?

this last month or so of ice till breakup i'd start fishing shallower - i'm guessing 8-10 feet.
