Default Deer ticks

Shot my first mule buck with a bow and super happy about that. Was skinning him and noticed a bunch of ticks on him. What do people normally do and is there any problem with it? It's at the butcher now

Killed em all with raid.. not all ticks carry lymes disease , just do a little google search and find out as much info ad you can , but the meat went to the butcher shop and the sausages were delisious.

We just moved back to Calgary from Saskatchewan a month ago. I worked Search & Rescue out of Regina, and that whole area was absolutely swarming thick with ticks all year. The last callout we had was August and there were still LOTS of them.

After the first few times of coming back from a search with a hundred or more on you, you get used to them, but they're gross little buggers. Lyme disease is still fairly rare up here, but it's increasing in frequency every year, and I haven't found much that will keep them off of you. As far as killing them, Raid and a black garbage bag for a hide, the same treatment for your clothes and gear. You do NOT want to bring one in the house if your wife is anything like mine

I've seen a few whitetail with lots of ticks in early winter.

A little safer way of handling the tick infested deer's skinning process is to use the rope and ball truck skinning method. That way you skin your deer in a couple minutes without having to handle the deer hide too much.
Youtube skinning a deer with a truck and a golf ball.

Wear gloves, long sleeves, and tight fitting collar and cuff areas when handling the carcass.

Default Thanka

Should still be good to eat I guess. It's at the butcher and I'm just curious. Never experienced this before
