Default Gopher Count for 2014

Got my first one of the year today , taken with a 22-250 at 25 yds hence not much left for a photo . The coyote count for the season on the trapping discussion has been quite popular , lets see where we can get to with a gopher count .
Add yours to a running total similar to that other thread .
I'll start with 1.

Knee deep (on me) and crusty enough to carry my weight 90% of the time. It will be a while before we see sod rats here.

South of Lethbridge . The brave little fella was out in a sunny spot despite the wind .I was pulling the last of my snares and he was an unexpected surprise .

Went to the Ridge yesterday to see if the deer are still packin " they are for the most part " but did find one small 4 point shed. Also came face to face with this monster and he showed no fear. Next time we meet!

Out my way with the Chinook wind that we've had, a lot of the snow has melted. Shouldn't be long before they show up. It's unreal as to how much difference a short drive across to the east side of #2 makes a difference. It still looks like winter just a few miles away.

I'm hoping for a high count at the Doug Helber memorial gopher derby come April 26th. The gopher tails pay off in $.

Sounds like fun , make sure to keep track and add to the count . The coyote count is interesting , bet a gopher count could get scary .

Do you think it would work if we added a round count as well? I often forget to count gophers but i always notice when i have gone through a brick of 22.

Nice camera shots Buckwheat. Looks like spring is well on it's way down there. In order to further encourage the coming of spring, I wore some shorts to visit Fly's Etc. the other day. I couldn't find the specific powder that I was after, so I bought a 17 HMR to further encourage the coming of spring. Hey.....I'm doing my part lol.

While out on my buddies lot helping him mend a fence to try and gain access to his land his mouthy little gopher continues screaming at us. I didn't have my bow but I had the pellet gun and took him down. blood everywhere and he rolled back down the hole.. no prize but a nice bloody hole ;-)

I got into trouble last year around this time for doing this. All I was trying to do is keep track of my tally.
