Will second Evergreen as a great place to stay. There is a guide there now as well who is a really nice fellow to talk to and will point you in the right direction. Super cost effective as well for a group. Can book up quick though so earlier you can get on it the better. Booked there again for March and can't wait.
We stay at the Dockside inn as well if it's just wife, kids and I. Really comfy beds and clean, good prices. Free breakfast in the morning as well. (cereal, toast, pastry). Request a ground floor room and it's handy to pack gear in. I will say though this last trip it was really busy at the dockside and the first time I've had trouble finding parking there. Seems like Cold lake is a pretty hoppin place at the moment.

Is the snow deep? Was planning on pulling a small trailer out tomorrow. Think it’s a mistake?
Wanted to fish cold lake for years. Have been holding onto these tube jigs waiting.
Any advice appreciated.

your ok but 4 wheel drive is a must and go slow cuz you will kick the crap out of your trailer and whatever is inside it.

Haha. Thanks! I’ll chain up and stop at the first spot that looks decent.
I hope to make up for a less than ideal spot with time. Going to spend a night or 2. Only caught 1 small laker on spray years ago. Pretty excited.

Last weekend unless you were driving a front wheel drive car ( and they were stuck ) you were fine. Only flood water was in bay mouth south of pp launch and over by the island. Good luck

easy fishing just as you get off the PP boat launch turn to your left, there is a point there now shoot 100-200 yards off that point out towards the middle of the lake direction....or go straight off the launch there will be a point on your right side once you get past that you will see the ski hill on your right in and around that area has produced too...
right in front off the marina a few hundred yards also....
you will catch fish there and not beat up your trailer just take your time..good luck.
oh and read some of the threads on what been working cuz there is no sense showing up and not having the right lures.

Tremendous. I don’t feel so blind.
Kept tabs on all the cold lake specials over the years. Hope to get lucky!

Make sure you use your dead stick some days it produces more than the jigging stick

Huge thanks folks! Was a real pleasure to relax a few days on this lake.
It looked like the fish were hard to come by for everyone. After fishing for 2 days I don’t think I learned much haha. Every fish was on a different bait, presentation or aggressiveness.
Too excited for pictures. Also most wrapped around my 2nd line which kept a guy busy.
Conditions - More ice than my scoop at least 20”? No water or much snow in front of the pp. Think people were exiting a little too aggressive up the ramp and really glazed it up. AWD / 4WD wouldn’t have any issues. Took chains off after I set up and pulled the trailer off without any real excitement.
Thanks again!

Just read the other threads on this lake topic....good info....don't be afraid to get away from the tent villages and explore....congestion does not mean success just humane nature to think they know something you don't....good luck.
Oh I have been catching in 140' of water at about the 100' mark I would get chasers and the odd one stays on....or find a shelf from 60-120' drop off get set up just on the edge mid way.....I have caught on spoons, jigs, minnows etc just don't be frustrated to mix it up cuz right now it's a grind.
