I never get worked up about stocked trout lakes getting fished out. I think of them as more a temporary thing anyways. They can be rebuilt

That said, I'll admit too that is strange to aerate a lake like Birch but leave it at 5 put and take...

Yeah I really couldn't care if the put and takes were fished out every year either. I think its great that we can do that (stock lakes) and I really hope there is funding available to continue this for years to come. I'm sure the pressure it takes off of our other lakes is worth it in just that regard. The cool thing IMO is that they stock some lakes that are way back in the sticks and a bit of an adventure to get into which can make for some BIG troutski's if they don't winterkill. And all a guy has to do is read the stocking reports and grab a map and you could find one thats even better then Birch in its glory days...
