Default Shore fisherman:fish finder

I mainly fish from shore and I was wondering if an buddy has looked at the humming bird r25. It's the fish finder you cast out on your line then have the screen on your rod. Would it worth buying for small lakes and rivers.

It can be.

I have one and it works well. I use it primarily for the depth of the water where I want to fish.

Mine however is the wrist watch version.

I have used my RF25 for a couple of years now. Find it very useful on the river.
