Default Of interest to those who enjoy Alberta history

I was researching some historical things and came upon this online.

Albertan's have all heard the name David Thompson and have driven through David Thompson country around the Rocky Mountain house area. But who really knows what David encountered and experienced. What this great land was like not long ago. Thompsons journals reveal this.

I found this publication that includes excerpts from David Thompons journals and an interpretation of Thompsons journals. A long read but if a person scans down the publication, (halfway or so), to when David was in the west there is mention of many familiar places and happenings here from the late 1790's to the 1810's. Some excellent tidbits of life here in Alberta 200 years ago. Narratives of the animals, fishing, FN and forts. Trials and tribulations and life.

Enjoy.
