Default Would you eat your dog?

The man from Quebec who spent three months in the bush, killed and ate his German Shepard. Apparently a lot of people take a very dim view of him for doing so.

Like most people, I like dogs, but the will to survive is a strong one.

Honestly my dog is a pretty good hunter of squirrel, rabbit etc. She would be a huge asset to have.

I think this story is going to be too much for some peoples delicate pysche...

Remember dogs are animals...
once wild and now mostly domesticated...BUT STILL ANIMALS!

If Rover got it in his head that he was hungry and master was chow..the dog wouldn't hesitate...he'd leap right for the jugular and that would be that...

When it comes to animals, a lot of people are very emotional. I think animal cruelty stories raise a bigger reaction than those of child abuse. Then there is the PETA types who are really out there.

Dog is a fine meal! It tastes a lot like baby seal or bald eagle. I wouldn't hesitate if it was a life or death situation.

I found it funny that on the National Post website no one mentioned the 1972 plane crash in the Andes with the soccer team that started eating people who died in the crash....

Maybe he should have had a SPOT tracker or something like it.

Not if I had a horse nearby....

I love how people are more concerned about animals than people...

Home invasion... women gets slashed with a machete... her dog attacks in protection and is critically injured but in the news the only charges mentioned are "cruelty to animals....

What about, attempted murder, assault, burglary, and break in an entering...plus animal cruelty....

A police service dog gets a bigger turnout than what are at many remembrance day ceremonies....

However back to the topic... Kill and eat my dog after three days.... I can go over a month without food and survive... maybe after week 4 but surely I could find other things to eat first...or just not get lost in first polace!...

My dog weighs 14lbs. Factor in bone, skin, and hair . . . eating him probably wouldn't help me out much. So, no. Besides, he's got amazing prey drive, and he can actually catch rabbits (though I've never let him kill one).

I would, and be happy that I fed him the expensive food. But then I used to play rugby, so I'll eat anything. ewwwww gross, even for me.

But seriously, it would be painful to do.

I would imagine that between myself and Jager, we would survive very well and there would be no need to even think about what has been proposed.

LMFAO!!

I would for sure. After a few weeks, not a few days... I'd be searching for better options than that though. The companionship would be very important too.

Doubt that I would taste very good with the amount of coffee and nicotine that runs through my body on a daily basis. Pick a vegan, range fed

We are bipedal primates, just have a highly evolved brain - tho looking at the human population today, i'm wondering where the intelligence is going.

Hurt my dog, and you better look over your shoulders. Hurt my kids, and you better have your affairs in order.

^^^ Although I would imagine if it came down to eatting my dog I'd be pretty much screwed anyway. Would probably have more chance at survival with my dog alive.
