I too purchased the Stihl 170 for my wife a couple years ago and it starts without hesitation and runs very strong. It's been used it for quad trail clearing and fire wood bucking up spruce and birch. Have had zero issues with it what so ever. I've heard many a compliment on it as others have noticed how light, durable and easy starting it is.... wait a second... sounds like I own the company or sell them ...NOT! Just know it's a great saw!

She's cut through some damn tough jungle with it...even trees bigger than she or the saw should have been asked to attempt.

Account for some new chains as they can make a HUGE difference! There's nothing like a sharp chain ... or so she tells me!

Depends on what you need. I've got a stihl ms170 for small stuff and an MS290 for bigger stuff.

The ms170 ran great....until it didn't. Kinda my fault for leaving it for a while with gas in the carb. Could never get it to run right even after cleaning the carb 5 times. Bought a replacement carb from Amazon for 17$ and it runs like a top again. It's an adjustable carb too.

I have a Jonsered CS2260 and love it. Probably a little big for what I need. But never lets me down.
Now if you want an oil leaking POS. Grab a Husqvarna!!!

My Stihl is still going almost 20 yrs later and all i do is have the chains sharpened and replace the spark plug. It has cut countless logs & bumped around miles of cut lines both on the quad hunting and sled in the winter. Stihl is what I would suggest to you.

Default Going to make you cry

Now that you just ran down the POS Husky saws I guess someone forgot to tell you that Jonsered are also made by Husky. Many are just rebranded Huskies and some exclusive to Jonsered.

On that note I have had a Husky 55 for many years and has been a great saw. Make sure you don't get one of the made in China models they sell at Crappy Tire.:sHa_shakesho ut:

Stihl MS 241 C, starts and runs very well. This saw has the latest version of Stihl,s engine management electronics. I do not let the wife use it at all!

For what it's worth, I used to run saws all day for a living. If your want a really stand out do all saw and are willing to spend decent money. Buy an older husky 372 xp or a Stihl 460 magnum. They are big. But you will never need another saw. I wouldn't even waste time buying anything smaller then a stihl 260. Older saws ads easier to work on and generally bomb proof. Look on Kijiji. Stihls take better abuse but the husky 372 has some serious cutting power. Just my opinion and my pay checks depended on them

Husky 562xp.

http://www.husqvarna.com/ca/en/fores...p-saws/562-xp/

I also have a Husky 445 that is strapped to the quad.

If you cut lots of wood go big, I made the mistake of buying the 445. The 562 requires almost half the work and the Rev boost technology is awesome for limbing.

Default Chainsaws

Die hard husqvarna fan. Jonsered owned by husky are very good as well. Blown up a few stihls back in the day and work provided ones failed to impress when they ran. Huskys tend to be a donkey to start but boy oh boy when they fire they make make hair stand where I never knew I had. Run only premium fuel preferably with no ethanol from say coop or shell and high quality oil. Been runnin a saw since I was about ten. Running everything from a 240 to a 395 xp, Can't go wrong. My opinion and experience. Good luck with your purchase

One of the best saws made. Just saw one on a FB buy and sell yesterday. Looked mint and $550. Pretty tempting

This!!!!!
Got a 372xp and nothing stops it.
And put a long bar on it......you back will thank you........no more stooping when bucking or delimbing....allows you to stand upright.....just watch yourself safety wise.

And the bigger the bar, the longer the chain, the longer the time between sharpening stops for the same amount of wood cut. If you buy a under powered saw, you lose all of the above.

I've got a husqvarna 455 rancher. Works great. I'm sure anything will be good to you as long as it's STIHL, Husky or even Echo.

I've got a Stihl 026 pro for my small stuff, and my Stihl 441C MQ for the bigger stuff. A lot of times I'll just run the 441 for both because that thing handles so nice for a mid sized saw.

I have an echo leaf blower/vacuum, I bought it from Home Depot, they come with a 5yr warrantee on bothe the leaf blowers and the chainsaws. Depending on how much you plan on running your saw, an echo would do the trick just fine if you're only cutting a couple cords a year.

As an all round saw, I would suggest around 45cc-50cc as a minimum.

Husky or Stihl from a dealer rather than one from a boxstore.
