Default South Leland Lake

I booked another trip with Dan/Andrew lake lodge. It's been a few years since my last trip with them but thought we try South Leland Lake this time. After looking at the lake map this lake seems huge. Does anyone have any pointers to narrow the search down for walleye and lakers.

When at north Leland same time frame, walleye were in tall green cabbage weeds and at the drop off edges of the pencil grass. Jig head with Berkley worm or paddle tail was hot . Lakers are already over deeper holes. Casting shore with rattle crank baits for endless hammers.

Default spent a week up there

spent a week up there a few years ago.
lakers in the deep rocky coves.
walleyes south part of the lake by the big island.
bring extra lures and wire leaders, the pike are extra agressive.

I've done 2 trips to south Leland and it was always a good time. Dan is a top notch guy . If you search south Leland I have some pics from my 2013 trip. I found a map from dans website that has pretty accurate spots for good walleye and pike fishing. Laker fishing was good and I would try down rigging at about 40-60ft . Try some medium size white and red spoons for the lakers. They really liked the pelican white with red flames. The lake has pretty nice scenery at the very south end of the lake around the big island.
