Default Popularity of WMU 306

I hunted WMU 306 this fall on some private land, saw a ton of mule deer, no elk and 4 whitetails. Was checking the results of the 2016 draw and saw way more applicants for tags in that WMU than the surrounding WMUs (ie. 2200 applications for antlered mulies in 306 vs ~500 applications in WMU 308).

Wondering why there are so many more people applying for tags in 306 when it's mostly private land and land leases, as opposed to 308 where is land leases and the bob creek wildland...it's going to be ages before I get my mulie tag in 306!!!

Maybe guys shouldn't go on boards and unwittingly tell thousands of readers about the tones of deer they saw......

You know it's the Internet right.....?

All depends where you are for elk and whitetail. Tons of those in 306 as well.

Right...

Good luck finding a patch of land to slap your quad on in 306.
It really is all private land. And they are happy to protect their own.

Does it auto plant trees every 50ft? Cause then it may be ok.

Or if you sing Kumbaiyah loudly while riding it...

When there are 4-5x the number of draw applications for that WMU compared with surrounding WMUs, I don't think it's much of a secret. Plus, it's almost all private land and land leases so if people want to get permission, it's their prerogative
