Default Game tracker unit

Hi, just wondering if anyone uses a Game tracker, Its a canister with a spool of string in it that attatches to the end of your stabalizer And tied on to the thread of your broadhead ,Kind of like a bowfishing setup. Shot with it at the range at 30yrds and works pretty good, The idea is easy game recovery and easy to find your arrow as you just follow the string.

you know what it sounds like a good idea but if you shoot at say 60yards i would like to know how much speed, hitting power draging the string would take away from the arrow just to add to the question at hand

I would not shoot this setup past 30yrds. It is store bought and designed for hunting at close range,Ground blind /treestand.

Interesting theory, never really panned out though. Really hard on good arrow flight.

First time I've heard of this, but I would agree with russ. What would be ideal is a broadcast beacon in the arrow like those avalanche search and rescue tools.
