Great tips that were valid +5 years ago.
As much of the lakes in the Lakeland area are/were some of the last lakes in the province where catch and keeping limits still exist, with the opportunity to keep a fish a lot of angler focus concentrated onto these lakes in recent years so much so that most of them sadly are collapsing or have already collapsed.
Have a look at the regs for Touchwood, Pinehurst, Crane, Seibert, Wolf, Elinor, Beaver, Marie, Tucker. All greatly reduced and scaled back as they did in central Alberta in the 90's.
Even the Deer population has decreased dramatically and it never has been a great area for Moose hunting. Lots of Bears however.
Smoke and mirrors.
