Hey Blue North those other ones are Rooster fish, a real blast to catch.

Elnino, we were down there a couple times in Nov and a couple in March. Took the wife and kids in Nov 05, we had a great time. The other trips were with the guys from work. We had a trip planned for this March with the inlaws but they had to back out.
Was down in Panama just before Christmas for a fishing trip, good time but I still like Quepos better. Might have something to do with the RUM there.
I have been trying to convince the wife we need to buy a place down there. Even if it's just a grass shack with a couple of hammocks.
How much longer are you going to be down there for? Maybe I could talk the wife into going at the end of the month or first week in April. But we will be going for sure in Nov or Dec.
I am trying to plan a fishing trip for Tarpon possibly in May to Manzanillo. It's close to the Panama border on the Atlantic side. Here's a website if your interested. www.tarponville.com.

Let me know what you think, maybe we can come up with a future plan.

HAPPY FISHING

Unfortunately Rigg Dogg, after 2 months here, I'm back home on Mar.24 , but hell, there is always next year. I'll be back again for 5 weeks next winter......I'm thinking about booking a couple days in late Feb, close to the new moon with my buddy in Quepos. Its only a short 1 hour drive to there from my place here in Herradura.....

Fishergirl............you'de be surprised how many women catch those big things, hell my wife is only 110 lbs soaking wet....

Hey Magic
I have never fished down there later than the last week of March, not sure how it would be on the Pacific side at that time of the year. Jan & Feb are the peak months, I think it starts slow down after that.

I checked into a lodge on the Atlantic side in Manzanillo about Tarpon fishing. They were telling me that May was one of the best times for sight fishing Tarpon there.
I will send you some contact info for a guy I know down there that could line up what ever you want to do while your'e there. Or at least give you some more info than I can.
All kinds of tours to go on in San Jose. Zipline, canopy, jungle.

Rigg Dogg............Herradura is about 70 kms north of Quepos, about 1 hr if you're lucky on the one way bridges.....(which should be 2 way by this time next year) We may be able to work something out , depending on when your down........ttyl

ps You can Google us by typing in these co-ordinates on Google Earth, its a small square place with a green roof. We're about a mile from Playa Herradura and www.lsrm.com

9.657140 and -84.646337

Real Estate price are starting to get very high, depends on what your looking for. I know of one lot very close that is 125k for about 450 sq meters and another one about 900 m for 250k both of which are presently owned by fellow Albertans.

Glad you guys liked the pics
here's a few more of some the boys from work on an Intoxicating fishing trip down south. All fish were released, best thing about circle hooks. No gut hooked fish.
