I caught one like that when I was about 12 while fishing at chin south of Taber. the spoon was just about half his body length. It was in a small tournament and I won for the kids as I was the only one who entered a fish. funny thing was that they measured it in centimeters to make it sound better. I think it was 13 cm.

I had one like that tears ago, my fly rod was laying in the canoe with the fly dangling over the side while I spin casted. Next thing I know a little pike jumps in the canoe ( no kidding). I guess he went for the fly and missed. But I tell everyone that he heard of my awesome reputation as an angler and turned himself in.

I've heard many a story of fish jumping in the boat. Most of the stories I've heard around here have been smaller pike. I did see a video of these fish (no idea what species) in a little stream that went absolutly nuts when they flashed the spot light in the water. By the end of the clip there must have been twenty fish in there boat!

Unfortunatly for me this fish didn't go aerial. I purdy much thought I had some weeds on, the line/reel/rod i was running was for much larger pike and not very sensitive when it comes to 2oz fish.

I have to agree with you shooter to have a little pike in an aquarium would be fun. But how about a monster pike in a very large aquarium?! Now that would be a hoot. The highlight of my day would be feeding time.

Caught 2 of those (one smaller, one about equal size) this summer at coal. Yup, they fight about 4 pounds heavier than they are, It's a sight to behold when you "land" him
