Default Fishing Close to Nanton

Just like the headline says where to go and what kind of fish are there, plus any hints as to where on the lake or what to use would also be appreciated. Thanks (mainly looking for trout or char)

If you're willing to target burbot or walleye I'd recommend going to Pine Coulee Reservoir. Fish 50-100 metres off of where the canal enters and you should be set. If you're at all interested in pike Twin Valley Reservoir is also a good bet, go along the dam or towards the boat launch.

A bit further east and you'll find Travers. WHen the action's hot there, you'll be into pike and burbot, and possibly walleye. there's also whitefish and perch. Never seen a perch caught there, but lots of people go for whites.

A popular spot is right by the pillars at the provincial park. Tip-ups with smelts for pike. We sometimes camp there and drop the tip-ups to the bottom when the sun goes down and sit beside the lake with a campfire.

This is legally incorrect, but I don't call that a perch. That's bait! LOL

PS: I do not use illegal bait such as other game fish.
