Default Crownland near Redwater

Happy holidays all. Has anyone hunted the crown land north of 651 on RR 232. Its NW of Redwater. I'm looking for some new deer and coyote hunting areas and wondering if anyone has had any luck or advice about the area. Thanks again

I live in that area also. Quads and dirt bikes pound those trails pretty hard spring, summer, and fall. Sleds in the winter. There is deer there, no doubt. But there is tons of human activity also.

But a handy place for coyotes for sure.

From the looks of it on the county map, It is a few acres north of the end of 232. I do majority of coyote hunting but looking for some local spots to do some deer next year. Trying to narrow down my door knocking search. I'm not familiar with the pines. Where is it located Chewydog?

The pines is located straight east of Redwater, take the main road going through town heading East, you'll come to a stop sign in 4-5 kms. Go through it and your on gravel, follow it till you come to the unloading area of the pines, turn right and your in it. Lots of bikes and stuff on weekends, looked this year for deer tracks, not many, but if your looking for moose, there were tracks everywhere!

Current rate for Outfitters is $10,000.00 per acre.
Same for any Landman.

Apparently, that is what the local talent have been telling outfitters in area.

Note this is only hearsay.

As in you're charging outfitters $10,000 an acre to hunt your land?

You don't understand the BS people in this neighborhood have to put up with.
Recently, Outfitters have come into the neighborhood to irritate people even more.

There is a real "Go Away" atitude in this area.

Well thats fine. I can understand if people are bugging to hunt on their land. But crown land is crown land. Its owned by Canada and not one individual person. I'm in the military and dont get to hunt very often. I ask farmers if it's oh k to hunt their land and if they say yes great, and if they say no that's fine too. I'm not pushy. Just try to be polite.

You want Crown land? Just head southeast of Lily Lake. There are even old bunkers left in the sand hills by the old airborne regiment. That was when the army used to fly to Bell 212's, The Chinooks sold to Holland used to make accurate downloads of nets full of tires in this area.
That was a time even before the Cougar armoured vehicle.
The Hercs used to fly in formation until that little incident at Namao.
The ground support used to called in from 4 Wing with screaming CF-104s. The medivacs used to be so drunk they needed an evac.

Please.I am not trying to get into an argument.

This thread started about hunting around Redwater, not some form of Army argument.

I wish you the best sir.

Good Evening.

I apologize if it sounded like I was trying to argue. I was not trying to either. I appreciate the help and I think I'll just steer clear of Redwater area...lol Happy New Year all.

This area is called the Readwater Natural Area. go East through the Town of Redwater, do not turn off till you come to R R 205, 9 +- km, there will be a parking lot on the North West Corner, +- 1 KM South from this Corner is another larger Parking area on the left/East(SAND). This Natural Sand Area has been devided into 2 seperate areas, the South West corner is designated as a nonmoterized riding area and it has been fenced off to Keep out ATV/UTV/motor bikes/Snow Machines, and the rest is open for whatever. I am not saying that others cannot use the rest, but with this being the second closest Crown Land from the Edmonton Area, it is used very heavely, Spring/Summer/Fall. Riding in the Mud/Wet Areas is not encourged as to the long lasting dammage that can done.

Bruce.
