I received some pictures and stories of a high 180s and a low 190s rams that were taken in the last week of November.
For the privacy of the hunters I can’t post the pictures. I will though post the exact scores of the rams once I go back and look at my email.

These are the only two I heard about.

Well if so many people have these pics emailed to them why not post for everyone to see. They are obviously public already!

Is it that secretive that nobody will post pics!!! It's not a secret spot. I'm assuming they weren't poached, so why not post pics????

Was asked to post the "story" that Darryl Skinner and Kim Darvill put together. Great friends and are most deserving of these great rams.

Cadomin Sheep Hunt

As most of you know Kim and I were drawn to hunt sheep at Cadomin from November 21st to 30th of this year. Historically Cadomin has produced some of Alberta’s finest rams and to hunt this close to the rut presented a once in a life time opportunity. We had the chance to do some pre-scouting during the summer months and spent all fall continuing our hiking to stay in shape.

For me this meant the chance to take my first bighorn after 28 years of failing to find the quality of ram I was looking for and for Kim it was a chance to take something different from the beautiful ram she took in Kananaskis Country 10 years ago. Who would expect we would both be fortunate enough to achieve each goal on the same day within 1 ½ hours of each other.

On November 25th the 5th day of our 10 day hunt it all came together. We spotted a large ram with a ewe early in the morning high in some cliffs. They proceeded to go around the mountain out of our view. As we tried to build a plan of attack more rams kept coming in to our basin keeping us pinned down. Eventually he returned with the ewe and some smaller rams and bedded high in some cliffs with the ewe. Soon after a broomed ram appeared and Kim snuck back to our packs to fetch the spotting scope. After a careful look we determined him to be legal but broomed very heavy. At the beginning of our hunt we agreed on a plan that would allow me to have first choice a ram on odd numbered days and Kim would have first choice on even numbered days. As this day was mine to choose or pass on the rams I chose to pass and wait out the big ram with the ewe. The broomed ram soon left and I looked at Kim and asked if she thought I had blown it. She just laughed and said if had been me I would have shot him!! Great I thought I just blew 28 years of sheep hunting!

Shortly after Kim said “Look to the left, here come a bunch of rams.” Eight young rams chasing one poor ewe came running in. As we watched these rams jostle for the ewe, the big ram up high continued to stay bedded with his ewe.

Suddenly to our total surprise a mature ram ran past us from behind heading to the group of 8 rams. Things happened fast! As he went by I could tell he was heavy and as he turned his head I could see his right horn up over the nose and well broomed. I shot him at 30 yards and ended my hunt!!

After the shot all the rams remained in the basin. With all the rams staying put Kim decided to try and wait out the big ram still bedded up high. I went to spend some time alone with the ram I had taken and Kim joined me shortly to enjoy the moment and take pictures. We then returned to keep an eye on the ram with the ewe and as luck would have it another ram muscled in and stole the ewe. This forced the big ram to follow the ewe down the mountain towards us. Finally he stood on a rock ledge 200 yards uphill and when the wind settled Kim made her shot count.

As light faded we took more pictures and commented on how fortunate we were to be drawn for this hunt and to take 2 incredible rams within 100 yards of each other. The hunt and the rams far exceeded our expectations.

For us numbers nuts my ram is 38” x 14 ½” (178 2/8 green) and Kim’s squeaks in at 41” x 14 ½” (186 even). Will be officially scored at the end of January.

We would both like to thank all of those who helped us and wished us well for this hunt of a lifetime.
