Yep you bet the last buck is the best buck we found and is easily 180s. My bro had some chances at him but he was in some rough country and he only found him with a few days left in the season.
Here is a zoomed in blurry pic.. lol

Congrats man!!
I've gotta find some new areas to hunt mule deer in the next few years. That 180" mark is about the mark I'd like to hit with my next tag as well.
Awesome buck and great pics!

Nice mule deer and great hunt.
I'm assuming you took some pictutes using a spotting scope. If that's the case what device/adapter did use to obtain quality pictures thru a spotting scope.

Thanks for the comments everyone..
I use just a cheap 2.3 mp digital cam.Its actually a spare for my tcam so the zoom does not extend outside the body..
Its seems to work good with my swaro spotting scope and i just push it up against the eye piece and take the pic. I dont use any type of adaptor.I have looks at ones at wholesale but i never ever bought one because I think it would be a pain to have to put something on and take it off and it would never be quick enough for me to get the pics i want.
Depending on what type of day it is and if there isnt much for mirage I can usually get pretty clear pics even at long range.Really the biggest reason the pics are a little blurry is because I am rushing to get a pic before the animal goes out of sight and i dont focus the scope or have the cam pressed tight to the eye piece.
Not magazine quality but it sure helps for scouting and field judging if you can put the pics up on a laptop and zoom in. I find that its really beneficial when hunting antelope and trying to score them on the hoof..

BrownBear ,not only do I enjoy coming back and looking at your pictures over and over But I have this big grin ,because a certain Southern A.B resident hunter that says there are no big Deer, especially Booners left where you hunted.
I have seen them and last year saw a few that were Booners and was told c'mon there are no Big Deer left.!! Even though i never capitalized on my Muley this year I am quite happy with the Whitey i shot.
Looks like a great place for Shed hunting this Spring. Those Elk would be great pick-ups as well as the Muleys.
Congrats again. You showed by holding out on the first ones you saw that a Big gagger Buck can be Harvested. Looks like Mr Shedcrazy's stories are true on the Population.

Ya definitely a pile of deer in some of those zones from what i saw and tons of 160/170 class bucks.I have never seen so many mature bucks in one area.Mine is not a monster by no means but a pretty respectable buck especially since we have never hunted the zone and were learning the area as we went.I seen pics of a few giants and heard stories of a few more that were killed including a 200 inch typical killed by a friend of mine.Locals kill a pile of big bucks year after year thats for sure.
Beautiful place to hunt and the farmers/ranchers are super friendly and kind..
The area holds some booners and I still dream of the day I can put my tag on one..

No Kidding Brown Bear, there still is ,or always has been some great Crankers. There is a pile I am sure that don't get posted here, just because some guys don't do the A.o thing like us.
Last year i saw some jaw droppers and no Tag to use, this year things just worked against me as well as concentrating on my son getting a Buck and doing a Hunter Host sort of takes me away from a personal pursuit.
I am a new bow Hunter and plan on being prepared for early hunts right up until season closes in 2011.
Its great to see great people like yourself get some good Karma going your way for new Adventures ~ Hunts , in a new area.

im not sure why this thread would make you grin....there are no booners in it??? the exact comment was that alberta has never been a big producer of B&C mules......and the proof was posted. alberta has put 90 of them into the book in the last 90 years. if that wows you....ok. knowing that the genetic potential is here, but management ensures alberta will never be what it could be is depressing for me. i dont know if all results are final yet, but it looks like alberta has put 3 into B&C this year. by alberta standards, thats a huge year. of course more than 30 whitetails will show, so it puts it into perspective.
as for big deer left....well the south is decimated compared to what there once was, you can believe it or not.....those of us who live here know the situation. the 90s are long gone and the near future doesnt look great.
and i have no problem saying it again....you DID NOT see 4 book mules in 234 last year. 4 big deer maybe, there there aint no way in hell 4 were book. of course some guys are just plain optimistic with a mental tap measure. as for population in 234, guys like timba who live there seem to have a good understanding of what the numbers are like.
