Nice looking calls Redfrog. How come you sold me the ugly ones?
I have bought a couple calls off of Redfrog and they are well built. Well worth the money if you are interested in needing a new call.

I couldn't get anyone else to buy them.
I just found two sets of the second pic. I had put away in a safe place.
The closed reed in that set is the only closed reed call on my lanyards. It is the only one I've ever found that doesn't freeze up in th cold. I don't know if it is because there is a lot of wood around the reed or what.

Any you boys ever try waving a wing on a stick , they come in fast , or tie it to a barb wire fence on a windy day and be ready , chickin wing is best although any will work.

Gramps, the Foxpro is touted as being the best out there. On a whim, I purchased a Primo's Big Dogg. Not the worse, but not the best either. Calling technique IMHO is more important, when to start with a distress call, move on to invitations or switch to dog distress after a kill is probably at the top of the list for success. Redfrog is the guy to talk to, he doesn't just make nice calls, but seemingly his experience speaks volumes.

Guys, all the calls in the pics were made by custom call makers in the U.S. I bring them in and sell them at the gunshows etc.
Some are custom calls and are real works of art. Some are production calls made by the same guys from molds of their custom calls. These guys are always looking to improve the effectiveness of their calls and I've watch some of them start with calls made from broom handles to some awesome artwork.
If I were to make a call , it would have to be on a cell phone. The only Art in my blood comes from my grandfather. His name was Art.
But because of the care that goes into making these calls, I can make them do exactly what I want them to do and that is call coyotes to the gun.
The guys who make them are also accomplished predator callers. Two of my call making friends just came in second at the World Calling championships in New Mexico. They came in second by losing the weigh in to the first place team by 2 minutes.
They used NO e-callers.
I do use a couple commercial calls sometimes. One is a Sceery ap6 and the other is a Primos catwhacker or something like that.
They are both bite calls, where the mouth piece is split with the reed in the split. They make awesome cat and bird sounds.
You can see in the pics. most of mine are open reed calls. With the customs it is easy to master the open reed. With true commercial calls made off shore, not so much.
The closed reed, where the reed is hidden inside are by far the easiest to blow. Not a large range of sound, but they do call coyotes and anyone can make them work. They do freeze up in the cold and that can be irritating.
The reed is the same as the 'squeaker' that goes into pet toys.

Gramps, this is my second season of running the GX7 and love it. The TX500 remote that comes with it is great. I can place the call out 250-275 yards and control it from my position. Most cases I only have the call 75 yards away from me though. This model comes with 100 pre-loaded sounds, and allows you to add another 300 if needed. To be honest I am not sure what you would need 400 sounds for. Another nice feature is the ability to program sequences. You can program numerous sounds to playback in a series.
Before I bought my call, I did a lot of research on e-callers and FoxPro seemed to be the best brand out there. If you snoop around on some predator hunting forums you will get the same general consensus. The GX& Fury is a pricey call, but it does come with all the bells and whistles. Don’t let the price of it discourage you though. FoxPro also has some cheaper calls that do a lot of the same things too.

Here are just a few of my calls, I really prefer using hand calls to the electronic calls but when you call for 12 hrs a day its good to give the ol' lips a rest and turn on the Foxpro just to mix it up...
