Default Get thee hence to the Crow!!!!!

‘‘Tis that time” folks!.......

Some super pigs to be had on dries. I dragged my diseased carcass out there to partake...

The Crow does not disappoint when this hatch is on!

Default Crow?

Glad you had some good fishing. My skills as a fly fisherman must have gone down the tube! I have been on my annual vacation on the Crow for the last week and have seen sporadic hatches at best and maybe a half dozen rises total in high, (some days very low visibility water) very fast moving water. I have been fishing this area for over 20 years and obviously still have a lot to learn. I have talked to only one guy from Lethbridge who had a good morning.

The few fish I have caught have been on nymphs with very few fish looking up at my dry flies. Tomorrow is my last day of license in this most beautiful part of God's creation. Thank you for providing some hope for one more try.

I have been a member of this forum for longer than my post number entails. In my former life I was PMD. Just haven't kept up with the local chatter for quite some time.

That’s good news, bessiedog. I’m heading there on friday for a couple days. I was there 2 weeks ago and tried nymphing with little luck. The fella at Crowsnest Fly Shop said it was a couple weeks too early still. I started at the highway by the lake and worked toward Coleman.
Which part of the river were you at? Morning or evening?
Thanks.

I try to concentrate on fishing the wet parts...... specifically the parts that have rising fish in them.

Sorry.... it’s the Crow... pretty much big fish everywhere.

How are water levels in the area? Rain in the Bow/Highwood on the weekend resulted in high, dirty water. Is it still fishable down south?

My boys and I had 3 days out on the crow last week and did well.
Over a dozen to the net last Friday with so long distance releases. A few more on Thursday and Saturday around the campground at Lundreck.
Fishing is good everywhere on that river. My 14 year old kicked our buts on the dry with goldens.
Black stone nymphs were the ticket in size 6.
Good luck
