Default Do you think this will happen

I got this message from an Ontario MP. How much of an uproar do you expect?

Toronto’s new socialist mayor is pushing for a ban on two-stroke engines in Toronto.

Trudeau’s helping by lacing even high-test gasoline with engine killing ethanol.

It will only be a matter of time before other left-wing city councils start to copy and paste Toronto’s engine ban into their own by-laws.

For people who live outside Renfrew County or don’t subscribe to my newsletter, the list of devices Toronto wants to ban is shocking.

It includes:

lawnmowers
leaf blowers
hedge trimmers
generators
rototillers
chain saws
drills
pressure washers
concrete and metal saws
water pumps

Just to highlight how out-of-touch socialists are when it comes to outdoor work, they are proposing to set-up lending depots for electric motorized items.

Instead of going into your garage or shed to get your lawn mower you will need to purchase an electric car you can’t afford or Uber to the depot.

Then you can sign out a heavily used barely functional electric lawn mower.

Find an Uber big enough to take it home, attempt to mow your lawn, then back in the car you can’t afford to drive or pay an Uber truck to take it back to the depot.

This is about the time that the teeming homeless immigrants tenting on the streets of that city will look at the new mayor with that expression of

Default My guess

This policy is in response to noise complaints recieved by the Mayor. You can figure out the rest. If the politicians think it will get them re-elected they will say it. That's how democracy works, like it or not. Hey I read that by offering surgery in a 40 bed hospital in Brooks, it will attract an anethetist. Just happens to be the Premier's riding. Lets see if it works.

There is also California's bill AB1346 that bans the sale of new small off-road engines by next year. It includes all lawn equipment, leaf blowers, chain saws etc.

Wait for it.

Imagine the cost involved in replacing all of the banned equipment that is currently in the stores held and being used by the city woks departments.

I already see the memes of the agitated, angry, woke protester, calling for the ban on assault-style weed-whackers and chainsaws.

Socialist lay awake at night thinking of laws they can bring in. It can be summed up as follows, do not have fun, do not look after your property, if you are not as well off as your neighbor it is most certainly his fault, and the golden rule, remember you are a victim and anyone better off than you will pay.

One of many things we will see UNLESS citizens take matters to politicians on a very personal level.

I believe in the next 100 years, we will see "labor cities". People who will be housed, fed, medical/dental coverage, post secondary covered etc but no wages. They will live in supplied housing near the factory/farm where they work. Paid for by the factory owner, subsidized by government or even government owned....

The only binding agreement would be if you leave, you can never return.

Im betting there would be hundreds of thousands in these "labor cities".

All basic needs met, healthcare, menial to administrative and supervisory jobs, perhaps different only by number of days off......

And those of us who kept our firearms and had ambition and aspirations, well, we might live better because the lazy and useless and true socialists/communists are in their own little "utopia"

Right now, they are trying to have ALL of us in their "utopia".......

Like the song says "let the bodies hit the floor"

Well they could end homelessness and unemployment in one fell scoop just give them all a scythe and a pair of scissors and we can all have trimmed lawns and hedges thanks to the Guperment. And all those unemployed RCMP officers could ride there steeds and play chain gang cops?? and keep the riff rafe under their watchful gaze. WIN win.

The three sea shells will be implemented after the ban on single use paper products.

The brainless fools probably met a bunch of daisy sniffers from California. Even gas golf carts are to be banned in California January 2024.

I guess you guys missed what Sohi said in regards to the latest shooting in Edmonton when two idiots shot at random people in the cars…. What he said is this: I don’t understand why somebody needs a handgun in a city….

The bigger issue for people will be the Clean Fuel Regulations.

With the mandated higher ethanol content, damage to small engines will increase. Many are not designed to withstand the corrosive effects of e11 and higher.

Quote:
Ontario: the Cleaner Transportation Fuels regulation requires that fuel suppliers blend 10% of renewable content in gasoline from 2020 to 2024. The renewable content requirement increases to 11% in 2025, 13% in 2028, and 15% in 2030 and onwards. The renewable content must emit fewer greenhouse gas emissions than fossil gasoline on a lifecycle basis by 45% before 2030 and 50% from 2030 onward. The regulation also requires fuel suppliers to continue to blend 4% renewable content in diesel. This renewable content must emit 70% fewer greenhouse gas emissions than fossil diesel on a lifecycle basis.

Ha, If they do ban 2-strokes, they better start with the city maintenance crews first.
If theirs are anything like the crews out here in Calgary, they probably have more 2-stroke engine equipment than the whole of the citizens in the city.

just imagine seeing all the summer care crews sitting on the side of the road twittling their fingers. "Just waiting here for the weed eater batteries to recharge."

Another cost accumulating opportunity for the cities.
