Ice was measured at 21" yesterday. Snow is deep; 4x4 is really a must.

So... Ice is thick, over 3' where we are. Balls deep in the augers! But yes lots of crusty snow drifts. I got stock then got unstuck. I was going to head NE but decided to park my hit with everyone else there.

LOTS of action! Saw everything, I swear I had a trout on camera too. The way and speed it came in was nuts. Too fast for Jack or Wally

Landed a couple like and filled one walleye tag, hoping to get the rest in the morning. Will update when we head out.

we were out last Sunday. Ice was crazy thick at Brownlow's. Ton of people out there. We saw a couple whites on camera, and that's it. Zero action and it sounded dead with everyone else we heard chatting. Even the rental shacks (in theory, in the best spots) said they'd only had one small perch come up...

I can imagine lots of people at birch bay, meridian, parkland. Haven’t been in years. Sitting for hours praying for a white to come by isn’t much fun. Much better lakes out there. Good luck if you go. My favorite area was Meridian

We're off tomorrow to Gull, South of Browns. Hoping to have the same luck last time we were out. I'm assuming the ice road is still good to go. Will assess when we arrive. 4 more tags to fill

If nothing is happening where you are last year we had a bunch of smaller tags to fill and got them all in an afternoon to the south side of sandy point at the bottom of the drop. Bunch of little males hanging around there at the time I assume doing the pre spawn thing as the bay area in front of the lighthouse is supposedly a spawning area. If looking for bigger fish poking a bit shallower might be worth it.
