Default Disapponted in people

I had an old 14' tinner I left at Tay Lake about three years ago. I know a number of people had used this old boat when they were at the lake, which is exactly why I left it there. A couple of weeks ago, some really desperate person decided they needed to take that old boat, which is disappointing. The search is now on for another old tinner to take back into Tay Lake for people to use. Does anybody know of any old boats that still float, but do not have to be leak free, that might be free or cheap?

Thanks in advance.

That sucks. Back in the day there was a couple tinners left at thurston and sawn lake that we used to use. Just had to bring an outboard in. Was ever appreciated.

Maybe the wind took it?
Or someone didn't take it very far out of the water?

(I think you should edit your post to take the name of the lake out, lest you advertise another free boat)

I had it tucked into the bush and it's not a very big lake. We always appreciated having a boat to use at some of the more remote lakes we used to go to when I was a kid.

The boat really wasn't worth much. Most of the rivets and seams leaked, and there were holes in the floor from an old anchor that was used in the boat years ago. Two guys could stay on the water for about 2 hours before having to pull it onto shore to dump the water out. It was a lot of work to get it in there in the summer.

I don't have the serial number any more, and I am not sure that the serial number plate was still attached to the boat. There are so many leaks in the boat that it would take a lot of work to seal it up. I hope no one trys to put an outboard motor on it.

If they do and they sink it serves them right for stealing regardless of the condition.

Any chance is was the the fish cops? They went into Jackson Lake a few years back and cleaned up all the boats that had been left on shore, and then put up a fence.

Duck Lake BC is another lake where abandoned boats were finally removed. Some had trees growing through them. They had to introduce an annual paid registration system to leave your boat there.

Maybe someone thought it was abandoned since they probably seen it year after year, so they decided to take it home and fix it...

It sounds like this boat was unsafe and whom ever took it did you a favour. Its possible the boat is already at the bottom of the lake if someone who didn't know better took it out before freeze up.

In the 80's we left our family boat there, for years and years. It vanished once, dad reported it stolen, bought a replacement. The old one turned up on Kinnard a couple years later.

I know it disappeared in the winter after seeing it there myself a month earlier.

I know it disappeared in the winter after seeing it there myself a month earlier. I would not even suggest it was safe to take on a 'real' lake, but on a little stocked lake it was perfect
