I have the 6x6 costco tent and I'm really happy with it. Its is really warm, its great for sight fishing and you can't beat the price ($300 i believe) or warranty.
I don't think i will ever switch. the other tents are just too expensive imo.

I picked up the clam xl4000thermal last year for $380 in that sale. There are definitely some good deals to be had.

That's one of the models I was looking at. Do you like it?

Love it. Quality is too notch, very big. Only downside is that it's pretty heavy in comparison to other hub tents of similar size.

I first purchased a ice cube 4 man pop up tent . It's ok but it has to be pegged down if there is any wind. If the wind picks up during the day of fishing, when you take down the tent it acts like a big parachute . I also had two poles break over the years during the take down. Once it's pegged down it makes moving a pain . Pack up , unscrew anchors , move , setup , re-anchor, etc, its alot more work . You tend to stay put because of this which can make for a slow day if your not set up in a good spot.
I then purchased a Otter XT pro from Pevy Mart. WHAT A TENT , NO COMPARISON IN FISHING . No anchor is needed. All your stuff stores in sled .We leave it set up and drag it to the next fishing spot when we move , which is huge if your searching for fish. It's insulated with 600 denier while our ice cube tent had no insulation. Our coats are hardly ever on in the Otter , never on if we run the heater. This is our 4th year with this and it's held up with out a tear. Other than the price , I would highly recommend this , but you get what you pay for.

I had the 9416 and it was one of the first ones. I had a few zipper issues but also used th tent pretty hard. I upgraded it to the 9416i and absolutely love it. season and a half and zero issues.

I carry a drill and the eskimo "Ice Anchor Drill Adapter", no predrill, just drills the anchor in for you. I set the anchors in the middle and most times the corners in case of wind and wait to set the guy lines if there's no wind.

I like the insulated much better. doesn't frost up inside nearly as much and we stay in them overnight with the buddy heater.

Good Luck in your search

I picked up a Costco 6x6 2 winters ago Was only $159 They were $200 last year Great price and great return policy Has been great A little buddy heats it nicely and its just perfect for me. I only put one hole down inside second line is outside. I use a drill with a 12 inch bit and drill angle holes in ice and use 12 in aluminum nails as anchors works for me. Only issue I have with any of the tents and that includes hunting ground blinds is the size of bag. You need a sumo wrestler to flatten them small enough to get back in bag especially when they are frozen stiff and have snow and ice stuck on them. Wish the manufacturers would make them one and a half the size and have a zipper running down length of bag like a hockey bag

Don't feel too bad, I paid too much for mine last year too. $449 at The Fish'n Hole's Boxing Day sale.

I'd go for an Eskimo insulated. Don't even really need a heater unless it's hella cold
