Default Should I go ask the wife...?

Just wondering if I should go ask the wife or do I just go pick one up and see what happens?

Looks like there's a distributor in Lloydminster.

I want one of these. Funny, I was thinking about something like this for ice fishing since I'm out of space to store a quad/snowmobile much less a trailer to haul it.

Still pretty heavy though. Not sure how I'd get it into the SUV.

Any idea on prices?

More than 50 yrs ago I rode a unit called Passpartout? made in Quebec. Very similar power tracks in front and had a sit down attached seat(trailer).

Just go pick it up but before you do let us know which is the closest hospital we will be able to send flowers and later condolences to.

So ........... it carries lot's of stuff as you ride behind it in a sled and hope not to have the unit suddenly stop as you loose your chicklets on the handlebars? where does all my stuff go?

I don't know about anyone else but I need to bring a tent, auger, mats, shovel, camera, flasher, rods, tip ups, tackle, lunch, heater, propane tank, etc..., etc...

Sounds like a snowmachine with a tow behind sled might be a better option for me.

Not sure I see the huge benefit to this other than price - but you can get a decent used sled for around the same money I think?

Looks to me like they have a seat for you to ride on. Then you attach your sled to haul your gear.

EDIT: Nope. I'm seeing things. Definitely sit in the sled. How the hell I didn't notice this at first...

Maybe you have to tie multiple sleds, lol?!?

On the website OP has posted, if you click on the models link, it shows prices on the different models.

$2500 US to $3500 US. Or once converted to CAD around $3400 to $4700 Canadian.

At that price, a used snowmobile found on Kijiji nowadays would be the best bet IMO.

I NEED lots and lots of gear when ice fishing. No sense having your gear sitting at home when you're on the ice.

Same brand name- but like the "snowdog" it had an engine and tracks in front with a pivot point of attachment where the driver sat on a padded seat on runners.

If I ever decided "to make a stand" and get an expensive toy it would likely be tracked mini truck. Costs less than a side by side and way more carrying capacity for packing out a moose or hauling my ice fishing gear around.

It would be worth sleeping in the garage for a week ...

Being a SnowDog, just tell your wife it followed you home

Intial thought - "wow that is awesome" after watching the video though I am thinking "why not just invest in a snowmobile?" I guess the obvious thing is price size, weight and portability. It is a really cool machine and looks to get the job done quite well. I hope the wife gives you the answer you hope for. In my case I would invest in a sled so I can do more recreational stuff with it outside of fishing but that is me! Hope the machine serves you well if you get the blessing from the boss!

The name "snowdog" is making everyone steer towards ice fishing but it says use all year round. Get a little ramp for your truck and this thing could save your back a lot. Wood, dead animals, hauling camp in somewhere, etc. Says the cheapest version hauls 300lbs on dry land, how much gear are you guys taking on the ice! modern version of a dog sled, pretty cool little unit.

It's an interesting machine for sure. But I wonder:
-could you use it on dry land as well if you pulled a wheeled device?
-seems to work well on a flat lake. What grade of hill could you take? And how much would capacity go down? Seems you could pull yourself and a deer across flat ground, at least with highest available horse power.
-and how do you hack it so you can get above that crappy 20 mph? LOL
If you have transport capacity, a second hand snowmobile still seems to be more versatile.

Look on YouTube there's a video of them using it on dry ground. After looking into it I'm seriously considering buying one. Easier to transport than my quad. Anyone wanna buy a 2006 Polaris scrambler? ?
