Default Question about carson.

So, I'm sitting here looking at tip ups not tipping up, and got to thinking. Why is it I rarely ever see any one fishing on the other side of the peninsula?

A few years back I had a dodge dakota, small truck, right.
I followed a 3/4 ton and a 1 ton truck around the edge of the peninsula, in their tracks, they made it and I didn't, the front end of the dakota went through the ice. Luckily it was only about 2 ft deep and the 1 ton hauled me out.
I've since heard that that spot is known for thin ice. Also check the wind, the peninsula breaks it a lot of the time.
