Default Red toothed walleye

I am finally to the point where I have enough mobility in my leg to crawl into my boat so I went out fishing with my Dad. We caught 49 fish, 48 of them walleye in 6 hours, with the biggest walleye being around the 29-39" mark and fat, it was longer than my 28" ruler by over an inch, and the smallest being around 10". The only pike I caught was a decent pike, probably around the 36-38" mark and was fat too, but the coolest fish I caught was a red toothed walleye.

It's probably more common than I think, but in all my years fishing it's the first fish of any species that I've caught with a red tooth.

That is the first I've seen it. Looks out of place. Weird stuff!

I'm not sure what exactly the story is behind the red tooth but I haven't been able to google anything on it.

Another thing, I just re-read my original post, my walleye was 2"9-30" not 39"

It was a pretty good day on the lake.

Not only are the teeth missing on the right side - there appears to be no actual upper jaw on the right side at all ...... could be the angle of picture???

Could be the red tooth is filed with blood having just bitten down hard on the lure. Teeth are largely hollow on fish but do have nerves and blood vessels around them. That's my guess anyways - still pretty cool.

Daaaaaam! I let him go but never bought a lotto ticket. Do you think the good mojo has a time limit?

And now I just re-read my last post where I corrected my original post..... I screwed that one up too!
There may be more to the snaggle tooth walleye than I though.

My biggest walleye of the trip was twenty nine inches to thirty inches long.

I have never seen a red tooth yet but I'm pretty confident EZM is correct.

ie Blood filled tooth from biting on a lure. Also like he said the angle of the photo makes it look the the fish has no teeth on the right side but if you blow it up and look closely the teeth are there but jus hard to see because of the lighting, angle of the picture, and the fact that you are looking straight down on white teeth with a white background.

Very Nice Fish though.

Sorry to disappoint a few old fogies, but there are teeth on the upper right jaw of the fish in questions. Cool tooth nevertheless.
