I have been doing quite a bit of research on this,.. Also check out HiSun 700 on youtube, same machine.

On a side note, a friend of mine dug deeper than me, and we can get a c-can with 9-11 HiSun 700's for $3200ea,.. no, I didn't make a typo.

So if you are pricing out a Motobishi, Powermax, or Outlaw,.. maybe even the Titan 500, most of the parts that are also on the Rhino come from China and are just shipped where ever to be assembled.

Don't be sweet talked into paying the $8500 or so price the dealers are asking,.. you can see they ae worth MUCH lower, and you get a Rhino with a different name on it I would ask about pricing now, then Jan, then again in Feb,.. with the economy the way it is going,.. prices will come down cause dealerships to make money.

Hey! We sell the titans, and let me tell ya we pay more then that at a dealer price to bring them in! Especially now with our dollar taking a hit, we now have to buy in American currency. Which is a HUGE price difference. So i would say, prices are going UP cuz its costing dealers more to bring them in. And FYI they all don't have the same motors. Some use clones, some official. I don't know about the others, but the Titan is a "official" CF Moto Honda Helix. You should PM me with some info on where your getting them from so I can look into it for ourselves as well, please? =)

Wish I could give you the info, but we might try to become a dealer next spring

As for who deals in them, you will just have to search around,. all I have seen so far are the models I posted above. The HiSun where are getting right from China.

lol.............when will you people learn "You Get What You Pay For"

They are a single cylinder motor that is NOISY and VIBRATRE your teeth out just to start!!!

How about getting a part when you blow a drive shaft or need a throttle cable that broke because they use knock off parts and the cheapest materials they can get there hands on.
There is a reason you don't see this in the Auto Industry, and they have tried (Daewoo,AMC, and Datsun just to name a few) Old technology and inferior parts are a recipie for headaches.

Good Luck!

P.S. You had better get in shape, you'll need it when your Knock-off crap breaks down 35km back in the bush. Oh ya, "patients" to when you have to wait 6 months for that throttle cable to come from China.

I have a 660 Rhino at the farm and it is no different, do you actually own a UTV or just enjoy knocking China made products. You do realize about 75% of the items you buy in your everyday life are made in China right.

I have been in squabbles before about these things, and when it comes down to it for price/performance, the Rhino would be last on my list because they are OVERPRICED. You do realize that the axles, frame, box, shocks, most electrical components and a various list of other things ARE the same as the Rhino, swap straight across, Yamaha does not make all their own components, just like the auto industry. Do you actually think that GM, Chrysler make all their own bolts, shocks, seats for that matter,.. EVERYTHING is outsourced because its cheaper, but they in turn are still going tits up because no one wants to pay for a product that is 150% inflated in price.

So go buy your $15,000 Rhino that is really only worth $5000, the name on the box RHINO should take some of the swelling down for the $10,000 overpayment you just made

I don't know anything about Daewoo but what do Datsun and AMC have to do with knockoffs? Datsun was the name used by Nissan before they changed it and American motors corp was not a knock off, they made a tough little 4x4 that they called Jeep.

You guys are really going to be disapointed if you are buying a motobishi and expecting Yamaha quality. I have said it before. From the outside the parts look the same but that is where the difference stops. Most Yamaha parts are probably built in the same plant but the manufacturing tolerances, material quality and QC are way higher on the Yamaha. Put them side by side and you will see. The "all things made in China" arguement has no relevance.

The Motobishi is one of the better if not the best Chinese brand out there but it is cheaper for a reason. In a long term test I will but a Yamaha Rhino against a Motobishi without hesitation, especially in the type of environment we ride in. If you have a RHino 660 on the farm you are not looking close enough to see the differences. The thickness in metal and quality of welds is what most people miss and is one of the more important manufacturing qualities.

A good indicator is comparing them to Can-am. Motobishi has been making ATV as long as Can-am has. Up until a couple of years ago Can-am was really overpriced when compared to the rest of the ATV industry. Canam as clawed out about 4-5% market shares with an overpriced machine. What does MOtobishi have for market shares? None really as they don't show on most reports. One would think if the quality was as good as the name brand machines for half the price they would be blowing the name brand sales out of the water.

I have a challenge for EYESWIDESHUT. Are you from Grande Prairie? IF so I will give you the number of a guy that will open your eyes as to the durability of your Motobishi when compared to a Rhino. He will take you out with him for about 5 days of checking wells and your Motobishi will be ruined. The Motobishi 700 quad that his swing partner had lasted 6 months before the frame cracked and all the motor mounts broke off. The Grizzly 700 that has replaced his Motobishi is over 2 years old. Guess what he has replaced. 1 belt because he has swamped it a dozen or more times and all the brake pads 4 or 5 times. You get what you pay for. Don't buy the Cavallier expecting a Cadillac.

I don't have a Motobishi, I want to get a couple HiSun utv's demoing for next spring. Also, I tend to take care of my equipment, if I want to go out and crap drive, i'll take a quad.

In your last comment, you tell me to take a utv, then you compare it to a 700 quad

It comes down people thinking "eww made it China" so nothing gets popular, because people are to afraid to try something new. BUT IMO they are a very affordable UTV for someone that needs to get around.

I was comparing the Motobishi 700 quad to the GRizzly 700 not the Grizzly 700 to the Motobishi 700 UTV as the above statement shows. Also it has nothing to do with crap driving but getting the job done. That is why he drives an ATV as even the Rhino's will only last about 18 months. What he drives in is what is required in his job description. As a result the strong ATV's survive in his occupation. He takes care of his equipment but also demands alot out of them. The Motobishi couldn't cut it.

I agree with you 100% that if you want a decent affordable machine the Chinese machines will work great. Just don't kid yourself thinking that you are going to get a Chinese machine for half the price and get name brand quality.

No,.. and I agree,. but the thing is you can pretty much get replacement parts if needed at any Yamaha dealership, or through a catalog like Royal Distributing.

Default UTV's

I did a fair amount of looking into all of these chinese side x sides last spring when I thought I needed one for the lake.
The best one that I found was the unit made by Hammerhead. They have a show room out by the Acheson turn off. If you Google hammerhead motors, their web site comes up. I think they were asking $8000.00 for a unit that comes with, winch, roof, wind shield, doors and a few other items that are all options on Rhino's. FS

Yes but there only 1 hp less then the 660 Rhino. So although the engine is smaller it can still keep up with the larger machines.

The 660 is based of the Grizzly 660, 42hp, the 450 is based off the Kodiak 450 at 29hp.

Yours is 33hp, so its in between,.. still only a $5000 machine.

The Titan was one of the first machines I looked at this spring,.. but my attention turned towards the other types because of price.

Also they do builts part for Harley, Honda and Hyundai... The WallMart Generators are built by them!... Look at their new Raptorex... 800cc Vtwin EFI!
