Default Highway 88

Thinking of heading up north of Red Earth for a day or 2. Haven't fished up there since I was a kid.
Is it worth the drive up 88 and hit the rivers and creeks? Mostly want my boys to get into some scrappy pike and few 'eyes would be a nice bonus.

Bushleage has canoed the wabasca river hunting. Not sure if he fished. Maybe send him a pm.

About an hour north of Red Earth Creek there are certainly fish in the Wabasca River. We stopped and fished there briefly a couple of years ago and certainly saw evidence of some nice pike being caught there.

Also found this fellow on the bridge. Thought it might make a nice mount and stopped to pick it up before it raised it's head convinced me that picking it up was not a great idea.

Dragged it off the road with the help of another passerby and notified the county office in Red Earth. Hopefully, they were able to put it out of it's misery and give it to someone to use. Maybe put it in their office as they have an eagle on the crest for MD of Opportunity No.17. GN

Also, if you're headed up that way, gas has been cheaper my last 2 trips that way at Red Earth than it was in Slave Lake. GN

Nothin spectacular for fishing along the 88. The waby is about it, pike and walleye.

Well we made a run up north. Found some nice spots and some good fish. And gas was cheaper in red dirt.

Looks like you had a great time.

What was the traffic and camping like up there?
