Default 850.00 for a year old HDS-8. Deal or no deal?

So I ordered a new boat last week and started to look around at fishfinders. I came across a guide that upgraded to Gen2 and has a year old HDS-8 for 850.00. He swapped out the head unit so all cables are brand new.

That's fair for sure. Only real difference is faster software. Picture and everything else will be the same. Gen 2 will just enable you change screens faster but the actual operation will be the same. I have had an HDS 8 now for almost 2 years and willcontinue to use it for a few more yet....I would go for it if he is including all the cables from his new unit...they are all interchangeable.

They still go for more than that used on Ebay. Great price. Half of new.

I was thinking of that too. He said he paid 1650 at Radioworld last spring. I haven't been in the fishing scene for the last 15yrs so I have alot of catching up to do on what stuff is going for.
