No issues with strings at all...being honest less issues with APA than many other top brands...
I would suspect something else is up...or a isolated bad string...happens... talk to your dealer or call APA , they will do everything to fix you up with quick results...
All strings will stretch or "Settle" for several hundred shots...what is the issue or meaning of "out to lunch" ?

There was a batch a few years back but haven't heard any complaints on recent or 2016 models...

The strings are Scorpions made in Canada

Guess I got one of the bad batch strings too but I love the bow. I still have to get out to you for the Worlds Best install. That being said, nearly every bow I've had did well with getting rid of the factory offering and installing a quality 3rd party replacement.

would too many twists in the yokes have something to do with it .... the main body of the cables don't look like they are over twisted but the yokes look like they have quite a few .... timing was set then the next day the bottom was leaving first about half inch before the top

I know of at least two sets of strings as recent as last summer/fall that would
not maintain tune.

What bow? On solo cam, with yoke twist ...the idler lean is critical...on duel cam also very important ..

On bows right yoke I start out with 9-12 or so twists...on bows left a lot less 3-7 twists...pending on string...
idler/cam must be straight in line with string at full draw...

if an arrow is placed flat on top cam /idler and tip at nock the lean will be 1/16 - 1/8 from string at nock point on bows left side...again pending on shooter

I change out all my strings to Worlds Best Strings... As I'm sure Lefty does with his 60X

I shot one of My AIR's for a year with scorpion string...and I can tell you it was better than any Mathews string I shot for 20 years...

http://www.worldsbeststrings.com/

Original question...Yes yoke twists are as important as any tune...sometimes more ..too much lean can lead to string miss-track on idler/cam and cause de-rail

Tuned a half dozen Bowtechs already this year that appeared to have same issue...lol

Has been an issue with a lot of stock strings over the years...can happen with any/all brands

The current set of world's best I just put on my Nitrum turbo are having the same issue. I put them on 2 weeks ago and have had to re time the bow 2 times already. I'm thinking about ordering a set of fuse, since the factory strings that bow came with were rock solid for over a year and thousands of arrows.

I recently got a set of vapour trails. Paper tuned before I shot them, and just had to paper tune again after about 150 arrows. I just assumed that was normal. Hopefully I don't have to do it every 150 lol

I ordered a set of vapor trail strings too 6 months ago, wasn't impressed put my factory string back on seemed to be a lot less need for tuning.

As soon as I know the specs on the strings for a bow I ordered I get a set of 60X, and save the stock strings for backup.

The Fanatic 2.0 I have I used the stock strings right up till yesterday and had zero issues. They were rock solid used them this past weekend for target provincials and they shot extremely well, no peep twist no issues.

BUT I like custom strings so I changed them out and the new 60X are awesome.

Talk to Allan he will replace them...he puts 1200 lbs force pre-stretch on strings and serves them...should be little creep or settle compared to those that only use 350-400 lbs with same string material...

At one time stock Fuse strings stretched the most I have ever seen ...most strings may have their issues at some point, But I have worked with literally hundreds of WBS and on install have bows so close to spec its scary...usually one retune on settle ...which is little creep compared to others and good as gold...

Servings were the best with special blend...

The 6 and 5 sound a little close but not over twisted for bows right side...

But check the cam lean with the arrow shaft... as well on bottom ...bottom should arrow shaft should run straight with string...

lean isn't perfect with bow at rest...there is factor of cable guard and bow flex at full draw...but will tell you instantly if there is issue with lean...which can account for yoke twist on top...or cupped cam or limb twist on bottom..

Scorpion strings are some of the worst strings in the industry! A lot of people struggle with timing/tuning issues with their Apa's and the majority is caused by the factory strings moving. Put a good set of strings on your bow made by a reputable builder and your problems will be a thing of the past.

What material so you order yours in? 8190 or x? Mine might be x and that might be my problem.

Ya. I think my originals were x, and the replacements are 8190. Could be my problem.

Yes Raise nock point...it wont look level...most nock point high anyway...
many look high with bow at rest but level out on draw...

Just move to where it wants...without getting extreme...if things go extreme look to other tune issues...
