Synthetic rope
I have 3/16" on my Grizz 700, on a 3000 lb Superwinch. Breaking strength is advertised as 6000 lb. I also carry an extra 50' length.
In my experience synthetic ropes are much nicer to use than wire, but definitely are easier to damage or break if pinched or scuffed. If I used the winch a lot (lifting a plow, for example) I think I would use wire rope.

100% agree
If you go with synthetic, make sure to bring a couple nylon slings

I bought mine from Maple Leaf Ropes. They have winch kits that they sell for a decent price. Ended up getting an extra 100 ft rope for the truck, and carry an extra 100 ft on the sxs.
1/4" dyneema is more than enough for strength.

Used to buy my synthetic ropes from CND ropes in Edmonton. WAY cheaper than the ATV dealer or off road places. 3/16" or 1/4", works great on most ATVs. If you use it on a plow blade, get a 8' section of old tie down. I take my rope off for the winter and put the short piece directly onto the drum. Easier on the winch and much easier to control the rate it lifts and lowers. My neighbour just ties his plow line to the hook on his winch rope. Either way works and both ways saves a ton of wear and tear on the expensive long line. Last couple of Synthetic ropes I bought for the truck winches I got off of Amazon, great quality, half the price of local.

What did you end up buying, price and from where, if you don't mind saying. Interested to see what Synthetic rope prices have done the last 2 years.

Buy yourself a 4" wide strap wherever you find the stiffest stuff, and cut that into lengths to use to buffer the rope and keep it from abrading or getting pinched. It'll save your rope.
